Do You Wonder:
What are some good jobs for someone with no experience ? And which of them pay well ?
True, anyone can work online and make money.
Really. Anyone can do it. Just do a search for “ways to make money online” or “work at home jobs” and you’ll get a bunch of ideas thrown at you.
But I hate to say this: a lot of what you’ll find are junk that either don’t pay for shit, require a ton of experience, or are too off the wall.
So today I’m going to show you 15 ways to work online, from home or anywhere, and get paid big bucks. Oh, and you don’t need a lot of experience, either.
Let’s take a look at ’em.
Ways To Work Online And Make REAL Money
(without much experience)
#1 Be A Growth Marketer, Not Just A Content Moderator
Growth Marketer is the new Online Moderator. Helping a company establish a presence on social media is only one aspect of being a Growth Marketer. You’ll be a brand advocate. Create, publish, promote, engage, educate…all verbs that establish you as an awesome person for this kind of job.
99 Dollar Social, The Social Element and Mod Squad are three well-known companies that hire people to clean up their client’s online presence and act as brand advocates. With these companies, you don’t need a whole lot of prior experience. All the work is done from home but the pay is around $12.00 and hour.
A little below the average bar, which is a little over $43,000.00 a year, according to ziprecruiter.
So this is what you can do: After you’ve worked for one of those other companies, check out Toptal, Attractions, Aha!, Chargify, Pagely, and Zapier. These “remote first” companies often have marketing jobs that cover everything that’ll get the company growing.
#2 Be A LEGAL Transcriber Because It’s Better
We all read about online transcription jobs, but those jobs are for general transcription (for the most part). Legal transcription is a bit more involved because it deals with legal mumbo-jumbo. Courtroom and law enforcement.
Big deal, right? Well, yeah, because the pay is better. Like over $35,000 a year better !
But finding legal transcription work can be a bit tough.
So you have a couple choices:
- Read my post about transcription companies that hire people without experience – some of them need legal transcribers, like GMR and Rev.
- Check out the FREE MINI COURSE from Transcribe Anywhere. This will open you eyes and help you decide if this is a good job choice for you. THEN take this comprehensive online course and kick start an awesome career as a legal transcriptionist and make big bucks
#3 Proofreading: In-Demand Among Bloggers
Just about everyone who produces written content needs someone to look over their writing. And with an explosion of new blogs every day, blog post reviewing is becoming the hottest and most in-demand proofreading and editing job out there. Making this one of the best ways to work online – from home – and get paid big bucks !
And the pay ? How does over $36,000 a year sound?
Scribe Writing, Proofreadingservices.com, Smart Brief, and Cactus Communications are four well-known companies that have a variety of proofreading and editing jobs. You can work anywhere and make decent money working on a variety of documents…as long as you can prove you have the chops.
And those “chops” are: Bachelor’s degree, command of the English language, excellent writing skills, just to mention a few of them.
But if you want to take advantage of the in-demand blog proofreading and editing, here’s what I suggest:
Take a look at some of the quick little proofreading or editing gigs on MTurk (Amazon’s answer to crowdsourcing). You should be able to pick up some experience – and a few bucks – pretty easily as long as you “qualify” (meet the qualifications set by MTurk) for the gig.
In the meantime, invest a few bucks in yourself and take this top-rated online course to learn how to be an effective proofreader. I think you’ll be glad you did.
#4 Online Admin. Assistant Is Not Your Everyday Office Job
The world is full of people who need to have little office related tasks done. Things they can’t, or don’t want to, do themselves. So they turn to super-popular freelance platforms like Upwork and pay people big bucks to get these tasks off their desks.
And because of Upwork, it’s all done online. No driving to meet your client. No phone calls. And you can work on as many projects as you want.
So, if you tap into things you already know how to do, it’s not out of line to charge $18.00 – $35.00 an hour for your skill.
Heck, just take a look at how much this Upworker charges for her talent:
Some of the more sought-after Online Assistant tasks are:
- social media management
- customer support
- crafting emails
- maintaining client email lists
- managing blogs and blog post schedules
- content writing
- proofreading and editing
- internet research
- graphic design
So what do you say ? Ready to show off YOUR talents and get started on Upwork ?
#5 Manage Pinterest Accounts And Busy Bloggers Will Pay You Big Bucks
This is probably the hottest online job going these days. And with good reason; Pinterest currently has over 200 million monthly users on their image search engine.
Managing Pinterest accounts is pretty easy to do, all you need to know is how to use Pinterest and be able to create cool Pins. If I had it in my budget to hire someone to do these things for me, I would find someone in a heartbeat.
Here’s my post on how easy it is to earn good money managing Pinterest accounts.
#6 Teach English Online Without Needing A Degree
Teaching a “foreign” language online to people around the world is a rewarding job for anyone who wants to set their own flexible schedule. You’ll help people around the world learn the language you are most efficient in.
iTalki is one of the most popular language-learning platforms out there, with teachers setting their own rates and earning on average over $20.00 an hour and you don’t need a college degree !
iTalki Quick Facts
- They have over 3 million language learners
- You’ll provide language lessons to anyone who thinks you have the chops to teach them
- Teaching is done through Skype and are 1 on 1 lessons
- You’re paid per lesson and you can accept/decline any lesson
Requirements To Become An iTalki Teacher
- Fill out the application
- Set up your profile
- Create your courses and lessons
- You’re then listed in the teacher portal

There are 2 types of teachers: Professional, or Community based.
Professional teachers typically make more money, potentially over $30.00 an hour, but you need professional teaching experience in a school, university, or language institute as well as a Bachelor’s degree and teaching certificate (i.e. CELTA or TESOL) from an accredited institution
Community teachers may earn a little less, around $20.00 an hour, but all you need is patience, understanding, and the desire to help others learn a new language.
#7 Sell An In-Demand “Thing” on Fiverr Without Spending Hours On It
Fiverr used to be known as the place to sell “anything” for $5.00. Today, it lets you expand on your “thing” so you can make even more money. And when i say expand, I mean you can offer expanded services and charge more. Of course, Fiverr will take a bigger cut. Oh well…
The biggest problem with Fiverr, though, is coming up with the “thing”. And remember, Fiverr (FIVE – er) is all about $5.00 or less in what people pay. So your thing should be quick and easy to do or create.
I took a look around Fiverr and turned up these highly sought after services:
- Logo creation
- Blog Post Writing
- Vioce Over
- WordPress help
If you can do any of these things quickly, then set yourself up on Fiverr.
But it’s better if you can come up with a “thing” that very few other people are selling yet still in high demand.
Here’s what I think is quickly becoming the most in-demand Fiverr offering: IMAGES !
Unique, one-of-a-kind images that bloggers can use on their blogs. And not just any image. Theme images. Images that represent a certain theme, like office scenes or dogs barking, or kids studying. You get the idea So, if you can take a bunch of theme-related, good quality photos, you’ve found your little goldmine.

#8 Manage Social Media Because Someone Has To
Don’t let this title scare you. There are Social Media Manager jobs out there that don’t require previous experience but don’t expect to do more than just answer comments and messages or share interesting content. However, the more experience you gain, the more involved you’ll be in a brand’s social media strategy.
Your best bet for landing a Social Media Manager job without a butt-load of experience is to freelance. Upwork is a good platform for this. The upside (besides not needing a glamorous resume): you can set your rate. $30.00 an hour isn’t unheard of. The downside: competition, so you really have to stand out and offer some awesome skills.

Then, when you’re done reviewing those videos, pick up this course so you can learn all the ins and outs to being the best Social Media Manger.
#9 Be A Content Manager, Not Just A Content Writer
Some might consider this just a nicer way to say “writing gig” but I like to think this kind of work is more upscale. More than just crunching out articles about ‘anything’.
Plus, the average salary is over $56,000.00 !
As a Content Manager, you’re expected to create content related to a certain niche, usually for a blog or website. You may write blog posts, source videos and images to be used in blog posts, schedule publishing dates of articles and even create social media updates.
The ProBlogger Job Board is the best place to find Content Manager jobs. Check it out.
#10 Translator or Interpreter. They Both Pay Big
A recent Gallup poll tells us that 1 in 4 people in the USA can carry on a conversation in two languages. Impressive ! I barely remember the few common phrases I learned in High School French class.
#11 Edit Transcripts For Court Reporters
Otherwise known as Scoping, this is a work at home job that doesn’t require any experience. Well, almost none, you should know how to read and type.
What you’ll do is take transcribed /stenographed court reports and convert them into words. Pretty simple, really, and you can make over $20.00 an hour doing it.
Internet Scoping School has a FREE ONLINE MINI COURSE that will get you through the basics.
#12 Sell On Amazon (because they’ll do the hard work for you !)
You sell it, Amazon ships it !
That’s Amazon FBA
Otherwise known as Fulfilled By Amazon
All you really have to do is have an item – or items – that people want to buy. Amazon does the rest. Like my friend MaryAnn, she sells all-natural soaps and lotions and makes a nice profit of over $12,000 a month, working less than 20 hours a week.
Interested in learning more about selling stuff on Amazon ? This top-rated, nearly 5 out of 5 star awesome online course lays it all out, like how to:
- Source products
- Make a passive income
- Figure out what to sell by analyzing Amazon’s product categories
- Negotiate the best price for various manufactured goods
- Find a product that will sell 10 units or net profit $100/day
- The ins and outs of selling on Amazon
- How to promote your Amazon listings
#13 Monetize YOUR Social Media
Kylie Jenner has made a huge portion of her wealth through social media, I think mostly by promoting her make-up line or something. Because she has a huge following, she sells a lot of her make-up through her social profiles.
But you don’t need an enormous following to make good money with your social media, you just need a decent number of followers with interests similar to yours.
So how do you actually make money with your social media accounts?
Here are a few ways:
- Affiliate Marketing: Similar to what Kylie Jenner has done, you can find a product that you strongly believe in, promote it on your social media and when someone buys it, you earn money. This is basically affiliate marketing 🙂
- You could also create an e-book or online course and promote them through your social posts.
- Already have an online service? Use social media to promote it.
Entrepreneur.com has an awesome article that details a lot of ways you can leverage your social media accounts for money.
#14 Direct Sales With Companies Like Mark Kay, Avon, Stella & Dot, or…
I used to sell Avon. My friend Amy sells Mary Kay. My sister is a Stella & Dot jewelry stylist. I bet you know someone who makes money with at least one of these companies, right ?
Avon, Mary Kay, and Stella & Dot are my three favorites, but there are so many direct sales companies out there – giving you the opportunity to sell just about anything. These companies are more than just ways to make money from home, they are ways to make a living offering stuff you really like and appreciate. And you’re a business owner, to boot !
Now, I have two important things to say about this way to make money:
- Talking to people is a must. You make your money hosting “parties” and selling the products.
- Getting started will cost a little bit of money. This covers sample products, support, a website, online directory listings…everything you need to be successful That’s just the way direct sales companies work..
Get started with Avon $10 starter kit
Get started with Mary Kay $100 starter kit
Get started with Stella & Dot $199 starter kit
#15 Customer Service: A Stepping Stone AND A Great Work At Home Opportunity
Customer service jobs often get a bad rap but this is a great way to make a decent living, especially for a work-from-homer.
Even though a lot of these jobs are call-center based, there are some really great companies that hire customer service reps to work remotely – not part of a call center.
There are companies that hire Customer Service Reps. without experience that also pay you while you go through the training process. You can also check out Nexrep, Accolade Support, Uhaul and Liveops. All great considerations because you’ll gain valuable experience to take to your next remote job. And these jobs are easy to get.
The bad news: They pay around $9.00 an hour.
…if you already have experience, and want to make more than $9.00 an hour, check out companies like Automattic, Taxjar, Customer.io, Hotjar, and Recharge. They frequently have open remote customer service jobs that pay a LOT more than $9.00 an hour !
You CAN Work Online And Make Good Money
As you can see, you really can make good money working online.
